Thank you for the replies. John, I called and left messages 3 times; evidently, Martha is not at work this week. Anyway, here\'s what happened. I spoke with the project manager and explained why two days was not realistic. I also explained why it\'s easier to write a 16-page booklet (my last project for them) than it is to write a short ad where every single word has to be perfect, etc. He ended up giving me until Wed. the following week, as that is their absolute deadline. I said I would do as much as I could by that time. They\'re paying me well and I do enjoy the projects, as the topics are in my personal niche. But all along, I could just hear what Clayton would have said.

Carolyn,

Whether you bust your butt to do this depends on whether you want to set a precedent. Once you do, this client wall always expect it: Well, she did it once; she can do it overnight again. You will always be under pressure. And the clients will never realize they\'re not getting your best creative efforts, the efforts that would have resulted in something really good for them if you\'d had more time. When you respond to a rush like this, you no longer control your business or your creativity. And, come on, if the client has lasted this long without these items, why would a few more days hurt? If they\'re so disorganized they\'ve failed to plan for this, chances are good they don\'t really know what they want and will run you ragged trying to hit a target they can\'t even see yet. Try explaining to them that to do the top-notch work you do takes time and research in getting to know their business and the audience they want to reach. Try telling them how much you\'d like to work with them when their timing\'s more favorable. then be prepared to walk away. However, they may suddenly find they have more time when they realize you can\'t be intimidated. Yes, this insight comes from someone with a full-time, salaried job now. But years ago, I was a successful freelancer. I know how hard it is to turn these things down, and I wish you well.

Hello,

Just an FYI, I clicked the link above to go to the Boostrap Money Makers package and received an error message.

I think my connection is fine so it may be a glitch in the link.

Thanks much - great info Daniel!

All the best,
