\\\”My back is killing me\\\”… is a metaphor designed to pull sympathy. It\\\’s not really \\\”killing\\\” you… it might be annoying you… but it\\\’s not killing you. I\\\’m always lip-smackingly thrilled when I can come up with a metaphor that works in my copy.
