Impressive Interview. I must admit I had heard of Paul only one time before : in a Mike Samonek interview, the Special Effect Cookbook guy. According to Samonek, Publicity is what helped him get all his publicity, and to sell for over a million dollar worth of books, as he is self-published.

Seeing the interview, I suddenly understand why.

Great interview Daniel and Paul. Great information. Great advice!

As a copywriter in the natural health industry, I've been leading towards adding PR services more and more for a specific reason.

Many things you can't say in advertising because of FDA restrictions, you CAN say in a magazine article or an interview. It's not marketing materials and not regulated in that way.

If you're a business selling nutritional supplements to a specific population, for example, with diabetes, you could start to target that group by becoming a source in articles in Diabetes Today or Health magazine, etc.

With FDA restrictions, it's very hard to really target specific groups with disease concerns in your marketing. But with PR you can really talk specifically to these groups and address their concerns specific to disease, integrating in information about your product and business.

Of course, I've been on the flip side working with editors in these national mags as a journalist. And I know how careful they can be at times about credibility issues due to your business interests, but there are plenty of ways to position yourself as a good, valuable source.

American Writers and Artists Inc. has a great course out on how to do PR (Secrets of Becoming a Publicist)and I highly recommend it as another good source on "what the rules of the game" are. And how to integrate PR into your marketing tool box

That was beautiful. Here I was not even considering publicity, thinking "they" wouldn't be interested.
Thank You for the great information.

That was probably THE best interview I've ever seen on publicity.

Good job Daniel and Paul! I've heard of Paul a few times and seen some of his stuff...he never fails to impress.

I actually took a whole slew of nights, and am planning my next press release which will be tweaked to how Paul described how to do it ;)

I'm so glad to see Paul Hartunian here at The Total Package.
It's a perfect fit. Paul's another guy that freely shares so much quality information. And every purchase I've made from him has been top-notch, results producing material too.
Great interview Daniel!
